Do not worry.
“Do not worry about the past and future. What is important is today. ACT NOW. You can only influence the future by what you do in the present.”
We all know these things, but it is easier said than done.
But if you are a devout Christian, do we know there is a powerful line in the Lord’s Prayer (Our Father) that we often neglect, but if we started to recognize it, it will dramatically cast away our worries, doubt and fears?
It is this line:
“Give us this day our daily bread,” as the prayer stated.
Again, I will emphasize the keywords in capital letters.
“Give us THIS DAY our DAILY bread.”
The prayer only asks for today’s bread. Not weekly bread. Not monthly bread. Not even tomorrow’s bread!
We don’t say, “God, give us this day our bread for the whole week, because there might be a famine, or maybe I will lose my job.”
That line only shows us that today’s bread is the bread which we must truly concerned about. What is important is today. We don’t need to worry about tomorrow.
“Tomorrow will worry about itself,” as Jesus said.
